Jeanna Hayes Studios bio picture

Hey there!

Welcome to my blog! This is where I post my most recent work. I hope you enjoy looking around. I believe that photography is more than just "taking a picture." To me, it is about capturing a moment through rose colored glasses. Beautiful photographs preserve memories forever. I have been studying the arts my entire life, and photography for several years, constantly keeping up on the "here and now." I love educating myself and improving my craft every day. Feel free to visit my official website, www.jeannahayes.com for more information. I am based out of Las Vegas, Nevada and am available for travel! Come back soon!

Beauty all around

I knew from the very beginning that whatever kind of shoot we ended up having would not only have details, but models! After all, details are breathtaking and fun to take pictures of (hey - they don’t move! :), but you can’t get expressions, genuine interaction, or that extra “spark” without people. So bring on the models! I knew I wanted at least a few children because most of the people who attended the classes and shoot are parents, and why not learn on something you’ll actually be using? So we got our cute little models - Brynlee, Halle, and Porsha. We also wanted a teenager so we could get a few more sophisticated poses and expressions. Lucky for us, Danielle came along. She is so beautiful and sweet!

I LOVE this next one because it reminds me of a painting. I adore paintings (illustration was my first major in college), and they heavily influence my style.

models2models5In addition to our 4 rotations (the Sweets Station, the two model stations, and the detail table…post coming tomorrow….), we put out a few little things for the attendees to photograph in between stations…

The “Sweets Station!”

Does the title bring you happiness? … or is that just me? :)

The theme for the “Field Trip” portion of my classes, was Sugar & Spice and Everything Nice. There were 4 stations where the photographers were able to rotate through and accomplish mainly two things - 1. Practice shooting in manual (which I taught in the actual class portions), and 2. Get some really awesome photos for their portfolios!

Today I’ll show you my photos from the “Sweets Station.” Once again, Suz put together the extraordinary details and had it all in her head from the beginning! It was an unbelievable amount of work to get everything ordered, put together, and set up. And as I saw it come together, I knew that it was worth everything (and that she is a genius). It was a little slice of heaven!

This rope decoration makes me so completely happy! I have had many requests from people who want to buy it, but I simply can’t part with it. I’m redoing my daughter’s entire room around it!
