- That they may not be the most “technically” correct photographs out there

- About the fact that I should go back to editing right now (and stop blogging)

I was looking through a few old folders and saw these photographs. A tear almost came to my eye when I realized how much my little one has grown! I don’t see it every day, but when I look back, my jaw drops. I am SO happy and feel very blessed to live in a time when we have the technology to take pictures. Most of the world’s generations haven’t had that. They had to rely on their memory alone. I would NEVER have remembered what she looked like if it weren’t for these, and that was only a year ago! I can’t imagine how lost I would be by the time she was 20.

Once more, to give credit where credit is due….

I LOVE this next one because it reminds me of a painting. I adore paintings (illustration was my first major in college), and they heavily influence my style.

In addition to our 4 rotations (the Sweets Station, the two model stations, and the detail table…post coming tomorrow….), we put out a few little things for the attendees to photograph in between stations…

The theme for the “Field Trip” portion of my classes, was Sugar & Spice and Everything Nice. There were 4 stations where the photographers were able to rotate through and accomplish mainly two things - 1. Practice shooting in manual (which I taught in the actual class portions), and 2. Get some really awesome photos for their portfolios!

Today I’ll show you my photos from the “Sweets Station.” Once again, Suz put together the extraordinary details and had it all in her head from the beginning! It was an unbelievable amount of work to get everything ordered, put together, and set up. And as I saw it come together, I knew that it was worth everything (and that she is a genius). It was a little slice of heaven!

This rope decoration makes me so completely happy! I have had many requests from people who want to buy it, but I simply can’t part with it. I’m redoing my daughter’s entire room around it!

And just for fun, a more “artistic” edit. Now on a personal note, I HATE eating pie. But I must say that when I saw these, I thought they were the cutest. things. ever. Maybe I should reconsider! Aren’t they adorable???

Meet Tyler and Allison. They are such a sweet pair! Allison called a few months ago, wanting to take pictures with her husband before his deployment. What a priceless thing! To have photos of you with your loved one before being unable to see them for so long. I know a lot of military wives, and I don’t know how they do it! They are so strong! My husband once left to train for his job for 2 weeks and after 3 days I cried every night until he came home. NO stamina!!! So the strength of these women is unbelievable to me.

Needless to say, it was a joy to photograph their wedding! She is absolutely beautiful, and snagged herself a cutie! They are hilarious together (always making each other laugh) and we had a good time all around. I can tell that their marriage will be filled with lots of happy times together.
